Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to the most common questions about FarmD.
What does "decision infrastructure" actually mean in practice?
It means FarmD is designed around a closed loop — capture field reality, generate the next right action, deliver it to the farmer by voice, and log the outcome. Every recommendation is traceable. Every outcome feeds the next decision. You get a spine for your grower program, not just another reporting tool.
Why is FarmD built for clusters instead of individual farms?
Because smallholder agriculture already aggregates — through FPOs, exporters, contract farming, and input programs. Deploying there gives farmers access to decisioning they could not reach individually, and gives operators visibility and compliance at the level they actually operate. We still support individual farms, but the wedge is cluster operators.
Does it really work without a smartphone?
Yes. The farmer-facing interface is a voice call, in their language, on whatever phone they own — smartphone or basic feature phone. Smartphones and literacy are not prerequisites for receiving a good decision.
Which languages are supported?
FarmD is designed to support 12+ languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali, Marathi, and more. New languages are added based on cluster deployments — tell us which ones your growers speak.
Can agronomy protocols be customized per cluster?
Yes. Cluster operators can extend the base package-of-practices library with their own protocols — crop, region, grade, contract specification. Every recommendation remains versioned and auditable.
What stage is FarmD at today?
We are in active development with early cluster pilots. Prices shown are indicative and under refinement. If you run an FPO, exporter, or contract program, we'd rather build the loop with you than sell you software off a shelf.
How is farmer and operator data handled?
Farm and voice data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Data collected from a cluster belongs to the cluster operator under contract. We do not sell or share operator data with third parties.
